1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current
(a) The current addition of the Racing Rules of Sailing
(b) Notice of Race
(c) International Dragon Class Rules
(d) Crouch Harbour Authority byelaws, available at registration
(e) Sailing Instructions and any amendments thereto. If there is a conflict between the NOR and the SI's the SI's shall prevail
(f) If there is a conflict between languages the English text will take precedent.
2. Advertising
2.1 Advertising will be restricted to Category A
3. Eligibility and Entry
3.1 The Regatta is open to all boats of the International Dragon Class with a valid measurement certificate.
3.2 Eligible boats may enter by competing the attached form and sending it, together with the required entry fee to the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club to be received by March 6th 2008.
3.3 Late entries may be accepted under the following conditions: An additional fee of £20
3.4 If there are over 30 entrants the Race Officer reserves the right to split the competitors into fleets.
3.5 Owners shall be up to date member of their National Associations.
3.6 Competitors automatically grant to the organising authority without payment the rights in perpetuity to make, use and show any motion pictures, still pictures and live taped or filmed television of, or relating to the event.
4. Classification
4.1 The ISAF Sailor Classification Code will apply.
5. Fees
5.1 Entry shall be made on the attached form and shall be accompanied
by a fee of £60, ( or £110 to include cranage and mooring) cheques made payable to the Royal Corinthian Yacht Club,
6. Qualifing Series and Final Series

7. Schedule
7.1 Registration will take place at the RCYC from 12.00 hours on Thursday
20th March until 21.00 and 08.00 to 12.00 on Saturday 21st March. Special dispensation may be given on request.
7.2 Measurement and Inspection are at the Race Officers discression

7.4 No race shall be started after 12:00 hrs on 24th March
8. Measurement
8.1 Each boat shall produce a valid measurement Certificate on registration (or a photocopy with the entry form.)
8.2 All sails intended to be used at the Championship must have been
pre-measured before the event, and only the correct sail number shall be used except with prior written permission of the Race Officer.
8.3 Depth sounders will be permitted in accordance with BDA rule 12.20
9. Sailing Instructions
9.1 Sailing Instructions will be available from 12:00 on the 20th March 2008
10. Venue
10.1 Royal Corinthian Yacht Club, Burnham-on-Crouch
10.2 Racing area: The racing shall be in the Rivers Crouch and or Roach.
11. The Courses
11.1 Courses will be issued with the Sailing Instructions
12.1 Rules 44.1 and 44.2 are changed so that only one turn, including
one tack and one gybe is required.
13. Scoring
13.1 The low point scoring system will apply. Six races are scheduled of which three shall be completed to constitute the Championship. If four races are completed, a boat's series score will be the total of the races scored. When 5 or 6 races have been completed, a boat's score will be the total of her scores excluding her worst score.
RRS appendix A2 will not apply
14. Support Boats
14.1 Support Boats shall be marked with Flag R
14.2 Competitors support boats shall keep well clear of the race course after the warning signal for the race.
15. Berthing
15.1 Boats shall be kept in their assigned places on the moorings
16. Haul-Out Restrictions
16.1 Boats shall not be hauled out during the Regatta, except with
written permission of the Race Committee.
17. Diving Equipment and Plastic Pools
17.1 Underwater breathing apparatus and plastic pools or their equivalent
shall not be used around the boats between the preparatory signal of the first race and the end of the Regatta.
18. Radio Communication.
18.1 A boat shall neither make nor receive radio transmissions while racing, including any by mobile telephone, except in an emergency.
19. Prizes
19.1 Prizes for the days racing will be presented each day as soon as
practical after racing has been concluded, this will be in the RCYC Club House.
The Regatta Trophies and Prizes will be awarded at the RCYC as soon as possible after completion of the final race.
20. Disclaimer of Liability.
20.1 To the extent permitted by law the Organising Authority, Race
Organisers and Management shall not be liable for any loss, damage, death or personal injury howsoever caused to the owner/competitor, his skipper or crew, as a result of their taking part in the regatta. Moreover, every owner/ competitor warrants the suitability of his/ her boat and equipment for the event.
20.2 The safety of the boat and her entire management including insurance
shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/competitor who must ensure that the boat is fully founded,, thoroughly seaworthy, manned by a crew sufficiently experienced and fitness for the conditions which that they may encounter during the course of the regatta. The owner/competitior must be satisfied as to the soundness of the hull, spars, rigging and all gear and must ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained, stowed and in date and that the crew know where it is kept and how it is used.
20.2Neither the establishment of these conditions, nor their use by the
Organising Authority and Race Organisers, in any way limits the absolute responsibility of the owner/competitor. The crew are nonetheless advised to satisfy themselves as to the experience of the skipper and the adequacy of all safety equipment and insurance arrangements.
21. Insurance
21.1 Insurance. Each entrant shall hold third party Indemnity of not less
than £2 million Sterling, valid for the Burnham Rivers.
