Boat: Galax 11 GBR 615 previously N236
Manufacturer / Year: Built in 1969 Pedersen and Thuesen Denmark
Varnished Hull with Teak Laminated deck on marine ply sub frame epoxied. Topsides varnished with 10 coates of SP two pack Polyurethane, sanded and renewed in 2011, some aesthetic work sanding and varnishing to do do to make hull perfect. But generallly the Hull is in good order. Picture taken in July 2012 prior to launching for British Classic Regatta, used for Aldeburgh week stored under cover since then.
Petticrow fitted new furling gear in 2009 and a slightly used mast built approx 2005 previously owned by Eric Williams. New racing controls inside running under floor boards in Spectra (Floorboards are the original teak
planks) to a control bar forward of helmsmans seat, original floorboards slightly raised. Runner controls main and fine tune all other controls running aft Including forestay tensioner. Additional bulk head fitted and epoxied and bolted in in mast area to add to stiffness. Light box section stainless steel mast cage under deck. Mast ram fitted to be connected, needs new bottle screw.
Two recent genoas, by Petticrow and North used once, new Spiniker used once 2012. Used North main used lightly. Various other sails by Pettigrew and North in good order. Boat sits on 4 wheeled trailer, old but solid and capable of being towed anyhwere in Europe with a new light board.
Dragon has had 3 previous owners since new, all paperwork including original Racing Certs and Current British Racing certificate available and proof of VAT paid when Dragon was purchased in Norway from Olesen Fleet in 1996 and imported by me to UK. She won the Swedish Dragon Nationals in 1969 and 1978 helmed by D Broberg
This Dragon is ideal for club racing in UK and in the past she has had respectable results in Burnham on Crouch racing gainst new Petticrows, we had a match race with the Petticrow built Sea Fire, when she was two years old and ended up beating her by two boat lengths, we did have a very good crew!. This price enables the new buyer to pay if necessary to stiffen the hull with Epoxy for the International Circuit and
to update where required within a realistic budget.

Boat: GBR702 Valanga
Manufacturer / Year: 1999 Petticrows (2000 version)
White with a green and blue waterline. She started life in Monaco as ‘Carpe Diem’, her new owner one of the organisers of the 1999 Worlds in Martinique. He sold her after one year to Robin Hennessey in Ireland. He renamed her ‘Rascal Rat’ and used her only lightly as his regatta boat. He sold her to Richard Jordan of Cowes in 2005, which is when she was first registered with the British Dragon Association as GBR 702. Richard sailed her, again lightly, until he sold her to us in November 2006.
We thus bought a seven year old boat with perhaps a couple of year’s mileage under her. She immediately had a full Petticrows service at Burnham. We have club raced her at Burnham on Crouch in 5 of the last 7 years since then. She has travelled to Cowes, Weymouth, Medway and Cultra in that time for regattas. She had a new mast and standing rigging in 2009 and has had regular maintenance each year. She is in good condition and has been looked after well.
She comes with all equipment and some spares, including two sets of North sails plus a heavy weather genoa and three spinnakers. She has fore and aft bulkheads, winchless sheeting and cascade systems, fine tune main sheeting and stowed crew seats with the optional teak floor strakes. The under deck runners are in dynema, as are the spinnaker up and down hauls. Other kit includes: depth gauge, compass on cuddy roof, spare parts pot, throwing line, flares, buckets, paddles, mast crutch, under cuddy, main bridge and aft bulkhead stowage bags, anchor, chain and warp, automatic and manual pumps, towing lines, regatta fenders, bow and cockpit covers, genoa and mainsail covers, spare boom and spinnaker pole, spare genoa, spinnaker and main sheets.
She has a Harbeck trailer with two boxes, two mast bearers, spare wheel and tyre and an all-over trailer cover, as well as lifting strop, folding mast supports and collapsible ladder. She is ready to race and ashore at Burnham on Crouch. She will be available immediately after the 2013 Worlds in Weymouth.
