Event Information 2022

The Royal Cornwall yacht Club (RCYC) is hosting the Edinburgh Cup 2022. The event promises to be a prestigious affair taking place between 2nd July and 9th July 2022, with racing from 3rd – 8th July.

Preparations are underway, and an experienced RCYC core team is in place. The Event Director, Race Officer and Assistant Race Officer, and Mark Layers have been appointed. Committee Boat, RIB and Support boat and their crews are in place. Members of other clubs in the Port of Falmouth are involved and enthusiastically supporting the event.

A launching and recovery team has been put together, with confirmation of the launch site expected soon. Berthing will be at the Visitor Yacht Haven and the Race Office is expected be at the Watersports Centre, with storage for equipment in the Gig Club at the Watersports Centre where there is also room for the Protest Committee to base their hearings.

The Windjammer Café at the Watersports Centre are happy to provide pre-race and post-race refreshments.

The RCYC organisers and race committee may use this group to alert competitors to notices being published on the official notice board, and to make other courtesy announcements. Please note that this is not a discussion group.


Accommodation in Falmouth is likely to fill up quickly with more people holidaying in the UK. Competitors should book their accommodation as early as possible.

There will be no need for measurements prior to the event as all Dragons and their sails are continuously ‘kept in register’, however inspections may take place as determined.
